Cupcake Wars
So we decided to have a cupcake war, yes I watch too much food network channel! It was a lot of fun...Noah's picture doesn't do justice, it's a hamburger! Grace went with the 4th of July theme.. she made a filling of frosting and pop rocks..so it would explode in your mouth..like fireworks! Each had to present their creation..as you can see the judges really enjoyed themselves...notice the frosting on everyone's faces! They tied of course! We had Curt's scout's join in on the voting and Grace's 4th of July themed cupcake..Won..The WAR!!!

Amazing Grace
I can not believe my little girl is 10, she is getting so big and such a young lady! I am always amazed by her kind, generous heart. She is such an example to me. I am so grateful to have her in my life and that I get to be her mom! She made the most adorable headbands for her friends for Christmas..I was so proud of her, Grandma Marlene helped her with her first few, then she just took over the little project all by herself. My favorite was that she had to make one for every girl in her class, because she did not want anyone to feel left out, then of course there are the friends not in her class, I think she made about 30! I finished her new bedding just in time for her birthday with again the help of Grandma Marlene! It turned out really cute, she got a new desk for Christmas to complete the new "Big Girl" room.

Pumpkin Bread Pudding
Bread Pudding:

1 cup milk
4 eggs
2/3 cup brown sugar
2/3 cup white sugar
1 cup Pumpkin Puree
3 Tbs butter
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ginger

1 tsp vanilla extract

In a bowl, pour milk and eggnog over cubed bread and stir to coat.
In a separate bowl, whisk eggs with brown and white sugar. Add pumpkin, butter, vanilla and spices. Add to the bread mixture. Stir well. Pour into an 11"x 7" baking dish. Sprinkle top with cinnamon and sugar mixture and make for 45-60 minutes, until set.
Serve with Maple Cream Sauce and whipped cream.
Maple Cream Sauce:
3/4 cup maple syrup
1/2 cup cream
1 1/2 Tbs butter
1/2 tsp pumpkin spice
Combine all ingredients in a sauce pan. Bring almost to boil.
Sauce will thicken as it cools.
Serve over Pumpkin Bread pudding.
So this is my first successful cut and paste experience! I love trying new recipes... I'm not much of a bread pudding kind of girl..but this is fabulous! Thought I would share seems how I flaked on the last girl weekend!
